Skin resurfacing with the laser involves delivering a controlled superficial burn under optimum conditions and to a predetermined measured level. The new skin which forms post operatively is brand new and unblemished covering up old blemishes provided these were not too deep. It is used to iron out superficial wrinkles either in specific areas such as upper lip, the so-called "lipstick bleed" and around the mouth or together with other cosmetic procedures like facelift and eyelid surgery to further enhance improvement and as an adjunct. Full face resurfacing is a popular request and gives uniform results which recommend it as a treatment.

Pre operative skin preparation is necessary and will be planned and discussed at a consultation with the surgeon and may also be touched upon at first enquiry by telephone while arranging a consultation.
