Q. What happens to the skin as we age?

Q. What is Restylane?

A. Restylane is a crystal clear gel based on non-animal hyaluronic acid. Restylane products are biodegradable which means that when the gel is broken down it disappears unnoticed from the body.

Q Are there any side-effects?

A. Immediately after your Restylane treatment you may notice swelling, redness, minimal discomfort and bruising, All are completely normal following an injection and will usually resolve within a very short period of time. These reactions typically resolve spontaneously. Other types of local reactions can occur but are rare.

Q. How long does a Restylane treatment take?

A. A treatment session takes about 30 minutes. No prior test is necessary which means the treatment can be done instantly. Results will be seen immediately.

Q. Do I need pain relief?

A. Pain relief is generally not necessary but is easy to arrange. A topical anaesthetic is usually enough.

Q. How long will it last?

A. Restylane products are lasting but not permanent. Many choose to have a follow up treatment 6 to 12 months after the initial treatment of wrinkles. When the lips have been treated a follow-up treatment is normally needed after 6 months.

Q. What will I look like immediately after a treatment?

A. After treatment slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation can be expected. These symptoms are temporary and typically resolve spontaneously.
