Q.
What type of implant should I have ?
A. Silicone
implants have been around a long time, long enough to have
been thoroughly tried, tested and repeatedly improved. The
textured variety has been shown to produce a markedly reduced
rate of hardening or capsular contracture and these are
the ones recommended.

Q.
What are the complications of the procedure ?
A. Scarring
and capsular contracture can occur apart from any others
which will be discussed at your consultation. Unfortunately
every cut in the body is repaired by scar tissue. The extent
to which you will scar depends, not only on surgical technique
but on your particular skin characteristics. Capsular contracture
occurs much less commonly now with the new, improved textured
variety of implant used. Both conditions are treatable.
