RESTYLANE
Restylane is a non animal stabilized hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in human skin and is responsible for the fresh, glowing skin of youth.
As we age, the hyaluronic acid in our skin diminishes leading to the tell tale “crepeyness” of dehydrated, older skin. But there is no need to suffer the resultant loss of elasticity as help in the form of Restylane is at hand!
Restylane puts the hyaluronic acid back from where it has been lost over time. Its presence draws fluid back into the skin replenishing it and giving it back its bounce, vitality, freshness and glow.
There are different Restylanes depending on their molecular weight or thickness or viscosity from the thinnest Restylane Vital White to the jelly-like Restylane Macrolane used to reshape and contour.
Restylane Vital White
Emma uses this as a first treatment in skin which is very thin and crepey. After a variable period depending on the initial condition of the skin, she may go up to the next level.
Restylane Vital
The molecular weight is higher than that of Restylane Vital White and it is injected at distances of one centimetre into the substance of the skin as an initial treatment or following the thickening produced by the use of Restylane Vital White at the start.
Restylane
An even thicker hyaluronic acid, Restylane was one of the first produced. Now, with more condition-specific products available, its use is diminished though it stll has its indications.
Restylane Perlane
Next up in terms of thickness of product, it is used in diminishing the annoying deep naso-labial fold, or nose to mouth line and also in the early marionette lines from corner of mouth down to chin or jawline.
Restylane Lipp
One of Emma’s favourites, for the excellent results it produces. It is used, as the name suggests, to outline the lips and to augment them if necessary and also to turn downturned corners up. Emma is very careful to under do it rather than produce the duck bill effect actresses have been sacked for and potential clients fear! More can always be added judiciously if the initial result requires it.
Restylane Sub-Q
This is used more deeply to fill out indentations left from injuries or scars and for the so-called “tear troughs” below each eyelid.
Macrolane
As the name suggests, these are macro molecules and like jelly. It is used to change shape. Emma has successfully used it after overzealous liposuction at St Elsewhere’s Hospitals. It is also used to make a moderate enlargement in breast, buttock, calves etc size.
