Botulinum Toxin comes under many names. The most well known is “Botox”. Here at Cosmetic Procedures, Topsham Health, 61 High Street, Topsham, we use a newer, stable product called “Xeomin” which is, of course, Botulinum Toxin and Emma’s clients all seem better pleased with its superior results.

Botulinum Toxin is a muscle relaxant which acts by blocking the chemical which transfers information to the muscle to contract. Its action is reversible and muscle action returns after a time. Hence the need for regular “top-ups”.

The length of action varies from person to person and over time the intervening period between injections increases. One of Emma’s clients needs it only every eighteen months!

Lines, wrinkles and furrows are caused by muscle action. For example the angry lines between the eyebrows. Keeping the muscle relaxed gives the skin a chance to thicken up and rejuvenate while it is not being repeatedly bashed against the underlying forehead bone. The result? Disappearance of the lines!

Emma never produces masklike features and normal facial movements occur making for a completely natural look. In fact, most of her clients report having been complimented on their fresh look but up to now not one of her clients, yet, has been accused of having had treatment with injectables.
